Puerto, Pradilla, López-Arostegui and De Larrea named in Spain’s training camp squad for EuroBasket 2025 

Valencia Basket players Josep Puerto, Jaime Pradilla, Xabi López-Arostegui, and Sergio De Larrea have been included by coach Sergio Scariolo in the list of fifteen players called up to the senior men's national team training camp, which will prepare for EuroBasket 2025. The tournament will be held in Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia between August 27 and September 14.

Xabi López-Arostegui played his first major tournament with the Spanish national team at the previous Olympic Games in Tokyo, won the gold medal at EuroBasket 2022, and returned for the Olympic experience in Paris 2024, accumulating 52 international caps. Jaime Pradilla took part in the 2022 European Championship, contributing to Spain’s title win, and also competed in the Paris Olympics, having worn the national jersey 38 times. For Valencia captain Josep Puerto (3 caps) and Sergio De Larrea (4 games with Spain), this would be their first major tournament with the national team if selected for the final roster.

Group stage to be held in Cyprus
Spain is in Group C of EuroBasket 2025, which will be played in Limassol (Cyprus). The national team will open the tournament against Georgia (Thursday, August 28 at 14:00), then face Bosnia (Saturday, August 30 at 20:30), host nation Cyprus (Sunday, August 31 at 17:15), Italy (Tuesday, September 2 at 20:30), and will close the group stage against Greece (Thursday, September 4 at 20:30). The top four teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16, which—like all games from then until the final on September 14—will be played in Riga (Latvia).
